1 down, 39 to go….

Ok, just kidding I am not actually counting down the days, but I did make it through the first day. You know, it’s funny, I kinda felt like an addict. As I went to bed Sunday, and as I woke Monday I actually had a little bit of anxiety. How was I going to face an entire day without TV, Internet, or email. I was worried about getting through one day, much less 40. How is it that these things have become such a part of my life that the thought of doing without them actually causes me anxiety. As I thought about this it bothered me. I mean if I am not sure how to get by without this stuff, then maybe I am kinda like an addict. Do they have a 12 step program for Internet junkies? There probably is a support group, but it probably meets on-line….

Well, anyway. I did make it through the first day, and it was actually kinda nice. I spent some time listening to music and reading in the man cave while Trey watched TV in the living room. Today, I plan to attack the unfinished swing set. I got it about 80% complete then came up 2 boards short and never finished it. This was like a year ago, or maybe even 2. So today I will be getting those two boards and trying to finish that swing set. Wish me luck. Today should be a little more interesting then yesterday as I had rehearsal last night so it wasn’t quite as painful doing without the TV. Tonight it will get dark and I will be home….. during prime time, pray for me.
